Activity download vs. monthly statement
Wells Fargo Online keeps two different things, and only one of them gives you a spreadsheet:
- Download Account Activity — your transaction list, exportable as a comma delimited (CSV) file, or as Quicken (QFX) and QuickBooks (QBO) Web Connect files. This is the one to use.
- Statements & documents — the official monthly statements, in PDF only.
Download your account activity as a CSV
- Sign in to wellsfargo.com from a desktop browser.
- Open the account you want, then go to Download Account Activity (reachable from the Accounts menu or from the account's Activity view).
- Confirm the From and To dates of the period you need.
- Under File Format, choose Comma Delimited (ASCII, Spreadsheet) — that is the CSV option.
- Click Download and save the file.
The 90-day default is not the limit
By default the download covers only the last 90 days of transactions. For certain account types, up to 18 months of activity is available — select the longer time frame on the Account Activity page before downloading. Anything older than the available window has to be pulled as a PDF statement instead.
The exported CSV typically holds one row per transaction with the date, description, amount and a running balance, which is all ScanCompte needs. If you also hold accounts elsewhere, the flow is very close to our guides for exporting a Chase statement and exporting a Bank of America statement.
Getting the most out of the export
Pull at least three consecutive months. A monthly subscription is invisible on a single statement, and an annual renewal is easier to spot when the window is wide. Once your CSV — or PDF statement — is saved, upload it to ScanCompte: spending is categorized automatically and recurring charges are flagged. We never connect to your bank, and your file is deleted within 24 hours.
