What Chime gives you — and what it doesn't
Worth setting expectations before you dig through the menus: Chime's help centre documents monthly PDF statements and nothing else. There's no CSV download, no OFX or QFX export, and no "export activity" button in the app. If you've been hunting for one, you haven't missed it.
That's not a dead end — a PDF statement still contains every transaction, and it can be read and analysed. It just means the PDF is your source file rather than a spreadsheet.
Download your Chime statement in the app
- Open the Chime app and tap Profile.
- Select Documents, then Account statements.
- Choose the account and the month you need.
- Tap the export icon in the top right to save the file.
Download from chime.com
- Go to chime.com and log in.
- Navigate to Profile › Documents.
- Under Account Statements, select your account and the month.
- Download the statement.
The web route is usually the better one when the file has to end up on a computer. Chime doesn't mail printed statements, but nothing stops you printing the PDF yourself.
Statement cycles and a balance quirk
Statements generate monthly for checking and savings accounts, and by billing cycle for Credit Builder — so if you use Credit Builder alongside a checking account, the periods won't line up neatly. Download each account separately rather than assuming one file covers everything.
One detail that confuses people: a section of the statement can show a $0 ending balance even though the money is sitting in another part of your account. Read every section before concluding anything about your balance. You'll also get an email notification each time a new monthly statement is ready.
If you bank across several US institutions, the process differs — Ally and Capital One both offer structured downloads that Chime does not.
Once you have the PDF in hand, the useful part is reading several months back to back. Recurring charges you've stopped noticing — dormant subscriptions, services billed twice, prices that crept up quietly — surface far faster that way than by scrolling the app.
