Export works on the web only — not in the app
This trips people up constantly, so it's worth stating first: SoFi's transaction export is not available in the mobile app. You have to go through SoFi.com, either on a computer or in a mobile browser. If you've been hunting for an export button inside the app, that's why you can't find it.
The export covers Checking and Savings accounts, and produces a CSV file — one row per transaction, ready for a spreadsheet.
Export your SoFi transactions
- Log in to SoFi.com using the web or a mobile browser.
- Select the Banking tab.
- Select the account you'd like to export from.
- Click the gear icon.
- Select Export Transactions on the left.
- Choose the date range you want.
- Click Export — the CSV downloads to your browser.
The two-year rule
The single constraint to plan around: the total range of dates you choose cannot exceed two years. Beyond that, split your request into consecutive chunks and stitch the files together afterwards.
The good news is that transactions are available going back to the date your account was opened. So there's no rolling 90-day window quietly truncating your history the way some banks impose — if your account is five years old, you can retrieve all five years, just in three passes rather than one.
SoFi has said additional file formats will be added in future, but CSV is the only option today. That's rarely a problem: CSV is the most portable format there is, and it's exactly what spending-analysis tools expect.

Once the CSV is on your machine, the point is to read it across a long window rather than a single month. Recurring charges you've stopped noticing — dormant subscriptions, duplicate services, prices that crept up quietly — are exactly what a two-year export makes visible.
